Shared electric mobility is boosting with almost no public support, if institutions join forces with private investors even more citizens would will get out of their fossil- fuel-runned-vehicles

– There are some good varieties of shared electric mobility options and growing electric public transport fleet in Sofia and other big cities

– With more public support and incentives more and more citizens would use these options over their individual cars

– The Bulgarian NECP should take into account these considerations when addressing sustainable mobility

In urban areas and big cities the air pollution is significant due to the individual transport and old fleets. The alternative to that are not single electromobiles to use precious metals and make traffic jams, but shared electric mobility – from affordable rent schemes for electric cars, vans, scooters and vans, to electric buses and trams.

In large cities such as Sofia, Bourgas, electric buses are slowly increasing in number. Rental schemes for electric scooters and electric cars for individual needs and vans for the transport of goods are multiplying. These schemes have been developed by private initiative, as there is no promotion program or plan at municipal or national level yet, meaning the prices are not really affordable for everyone.

More public procurement of electric buses and trams and more incentives for citizens to use public transport and shared mobility options over their individual cars are yet needed.
